How Gorilla Sourcing credits work

How Gorilla Sourcing credit invites work

Gorilla Sourcing is priced per Sourcing seat. Each seat gives one person on your team a set number of invites. An invite is your first contact with a candidate for a job. Everything after that first message is included, so you can follow up and reply as often as you need.S

Sourcing invites are separate from the credits you use in Gorilla Assessments. You can't spend one on the other.

Sourcing seats and invites

Each Sourcing seat comes with its own invites. How many depends on your plan and how you pay:

How seat invites work

  • Invites belong to the seat. Each seat has its own balance, and one person can't use another's invites.
  • Invites reset at renewal. All seats on your account reset on the same day: once a year on annual billing, or once a month on monthly billing. Unused invites don't carry over.
  • A new seat starts full. A seat you add mid-cycle gets its full allowance straight away, and it resets with your other seats.
  • Moving a seat moves its invites. If you reassign a seat to someone else, its remaining invites go with it.

Credit invite consumption

An invite is your first contact with a candidate for a job. Sending that first message uses 1 credit invite. After that, the conversation about that job is included:

  • Follow-ups for the same job: free
  • Replies back and forth with the candidate: free
  • Contacting the same candidate for a different job: 1 more invite, because it's a new first contact

Example: You contact candidate X about your Product Designer role (1 credit invite), send two follow-ups and swap a few replies (0 credit invites). A month later you contact the same candidate about a UX Researcher role. That's a new first contact, so it uses 1 more invite, for a total of 2 credit invites.

Before you contact anyone, an Owner or Admin needs to connect your account's mailbox in Integrations. Your emails are sent from that mailbox. We receommending connecting a shared inbox.

Seat management

An Owner or Admin assigns Sourcing seats in Team Management.

  • Owners, Admins and Recruiters can hold a seat.
  • Hiring Managers can't hold a seat. They can view candidates you've saved or invited for jobs they have access to.
  • Team members without a seat can still view searches and save candidates, but they can't contact them.

Assigning a Sourcing seat in Team Management

Refund of credit invites

  • If we can't find an email address for the candidate, the invite goes back to your seat automatically. It shows as a +1 line in your usage report.
  • Once we've found an address and your first message is sent, the invite is used. Also when the candidate doesn't reply.

Existing customers: your free seat until December 31

If your account was on a Core, Plus or External Recruitment Plus plan on October 1, 2026 you get 1 free Sourcing seat with 1,500 invites until December 31, 2026. The 1,500 invites are a one-time amount, not monthly.

  • Assign the seat first. It arrives unassigned. An Owner or Admin needs to assign it in Team Management before anyone can contact candidates.
  • It ends on December 31. Any unused invites expire then. To keep contacting candidates after that, add Gorilla Sourcing to your plan.
  • Moving from an older TestGorilla plan? If you move to Core or Plus before December 31, you get the free seat too. New accounts created after October 1 aren't included.

Common questions

Do follow-up messages use credit invites?
No. Your invite covers the first contact with a candidate for a job. Follow-ups and replies about that job are included.

Why did contacting the same candidate use another invite?
Each job counts as its own first contact. If you contact someone you've already spoken to, but for a different job, it uses a new invite.

I've run out of credit invites. What can I do?
You can,

  • ask an admin to move a seat that still has invites to you
  • add a seat, if you're on Plus plan (up to 5)
  • wait for your seat to reset at renewal

Will adding Gorilla Sourcing change my billing date?
Yes, for now. Adding Sourcing to an existing Gorilla Assessments plan starts a new 12-month period from that day. Your renewal date moves, and your assessment credits reset to your plan's amount, so any unused ones are lost. Adding extra seats later doesn't do this.

What happens if I remove a seat or cancel Gorilla Sourcing?
The change takes effect at your next renewal, with no refund. Until then, everything keeps working, and you can use any invites left on your seats.

Can I use Gorilla Sourcing without Gorilla Assessments?
Yes. You can buy either product on its own, or both together.

Why didn't I get a credit invite back? The candidate never replied.
You only get an invite back when we can't find an email address. Once we've found one and your first message is sent, the invite is used. Any follow-ups you send are still included.
