What the recording looks like

Open the candidate's results, go to the AI interview tab, and play the recording. You'll see:

  • The candidate's video, recorded the same way as any AI interview.

  • The AI animation won’t appear in the recording, but was visible and interactive for candidates during the interview.

  • The standard playback controls and timer.

  • The full transcript in the side panel, with each speaker labeled and timestamps you can click to jump to that moment.

The audio plays as normal. You hear both the candidate and the AI throughout.

Transcript and evaluation are unchanged

coring is identical across formats. Same questions, same rubrics, same 0-5 scale, same recruiter override controls. Tone, fluency, and appearance are not analyzed.

The transcript captures everything said in the interview, by both the AI and the candidate. You can read along as you listen, copy quotes for your hiring notes, and jump to specific points using the timestamps.

The AI's score and reasoning sit alongside the transcript in the same place they always do.

What the candidate experienced

The candidate saw an animated orb on the AI side that pulsed and shifted as the AI spoke, giving them a clear visual cue for who was talking. Their own video stayed on screen the whole time.

To see this for yourself, use the View candidate experience link in the banner. It opens the candidate-side view of the interview so you can see exactly what they saw.

Differences vs persona-format playback

If you picked the persona format for an interview, the recruiter playback looks different. The persona renders normally on the AI side, the same way it did for the candidate. There is no banner and the recording behaves like any other AI interview recording. Scoring, controls, and the transcript work the same way in both formats.
