How credit usage has changed
Previously, assessing a candidate always consumed a flat 3 credits, regardless of which tools you used.
Under the new model, the number of credits charged per candidate depends on the evaluation tools included in the assessment. This gives you more control over your credit spend and makes lighter screening workflows more cost-effective.
What this means for you:
Many tools are now free: Essential screening tools like qualifying questions, custom essay questions, and resume scoring now cost 0 credits.
Lighter assessments cost less: Simple screening workflows use fewer credits per candidate than comprehensive assessments.
Same credits, more value: Your existing credit balance remains unchanged, but because many tools are now free or cost less, your current balance can now cover more candidates than before.
Credit costs by tool
The number of candidate credits charged depends on the tools included in the assessment.
Credits are charged once per candidate, based on the tools included in the assessment. All applicable credits are charged together when the candidate starts the assessment, after any free qualifying questions.

What stays the same

Common questions
Do I pay more if I include more than one skill test?
No. Skill tests cost a total of 1 credit per candidate, regardless of whether you include 1 test or the maximum of 5 tests.
What is the maximum credit usage per candidate?
A standard assessment with all Plus tools (skill tests, one-way video interview, and conversational AI video interview) costs 4 credits. If you also use ID verification (Plus only), it adds 1 credit, bringing the total to 5 credits.
Can existing customers use this model?
Yes. Existing Gen 4 customers automatically use this model. If your assessments are lighter, your credits may last longer. Your rate card for purchasing new credits stays the same until renewal.
Is it possible to send assessments for free?
Yes. Candidates invited to assessments that include only qualifying questions, custom questions, and/or resume scoring cost 0 credits.
