1. Set your own time limit on custom questions
What's new?
You can now type any time limit on a custom question, from 1 minute to 7 days. Before, you had to choose from a short list of presets.
- Type the time as you'd say it: 25, 90 min, 4 hours, 2 days
- Video questions are still limited to 3 minutes, the maximum recording length
Why it matters
Set the exact time a question needs instead of the closest preset
2. Candidates can now fix mic problems mid-AI interview
What's new?
AI interviews now check the candidate's audio while the interview runs:
- A volume meter shows candidates their mic is picking up their voice
- If the mic goes silent, a warning appears in time to fix it
- Candidates can switch and test mic or speakers without leaving the interview
Why it matters
- Fewer silent recordings, so fewer retakes to arrange
- Candidates fix audio problems themselves instead of dropping out or writing to support
3. Turn behavior tracking on or off per essay question
What's new?
Custom essay questions now have their own tracking switches: Full-screen exits, Tab switches, and Content pasting. This doesn't affect behavior tracking for the overall assessment.
All three are on by default. Turning off Full-screen exits also prevents the candidate from being forced into full-screen for that question.
Why it matters
- Let a question ask for a paste or a tab switch without flagging every candidate who does it
- Fewer false flags, so the ones you see are worth checking
4. Extend a single candidate's deadline
What's new?
You can now extend an individual candidate's deadline from the three-dots menu on their row, even after it has passed.
- The candidate keeps the progress they've made and gets an email with the new date
- A deadline column in the candidates table shows who is running out of time
Why it matters
- Give a candidate another day without deleting and re-inviting them
- Spot who is close to their deadline before it runs out
5. See when a candidate's camera didn't work
What's new?
If a candidate's camera isn't working a few seconds into the assessment, the behavior log records a Webcam unavailable event with an amber warning.
Why it matters
- Identify candidates who blocked their camera from candidates whose camera failed
- Provide a clear explanation to stakeholders on the absence of webcam snapshots (when you encounter such a case)
6. Play candidate snapshots like a video
What's new?
Behavior log webcam snapshots on the candidate results page now play like a video with a scrubber, playback speed, and seek button.
Why it matters
- Scan a whole session in seconds and stop on anything that looks off
- Watch playback of an hour-long assessments in just a minute
- Review the snapshots you'd have skipped
