1. A new navigation bar

What's new?

We've replaced the top toolbar with a left-hand navigation bar. It expands and collapses to match how you like to work, and it remembers your choice. The test library is back as a top-level item, so you can reach it in one click.

Why it matters

  • Find what you need faster in the app, with your main destinations in one consistent place
  • More room for your work when you collapse the menu

2. Candidates overview

What's new?

The candidates page now brings your sourced leads and invited candidates into one place, organized by stage: Leads, Contacted, Invited, and Completed. You can manage your entire candidate pipeline without switching screens, and the page opens to the stage with the most candidates.

Why it matters

  • Track every candidate from first contact to completed assessment in one view
  • Move between pipeline stages without leaving the page
  • See where your candidates stand at a glance

3. Choose how AI interviews appear to candidates

What's new?

When you add an AI interview to an assessment, you can now choose how the interviewer appears: an animated, audio-only format or a digital human.

You set this per assessment for both library and custom interviews.

Why it matters

  • Give candidates an interview format they're comfortable and what fits the job role
  • Audio-only feels more natural to candidates who’d find digital avatars distracting for particular kinds of job roles
  • Switch formats anytime, without removing and re-adding the interview

4. Search candidates on Sourcing with just your job description

What's new?

Sourcing search works in two new ways. You can describe who you're looking for in plain language, like "UX designer in Amsterdam with 5 years of experience," and we'll turn it into the right filters.

A New ranking criteria then show how well each candidate matches the role, right on their card.

  • Natural-language search that builds your filters for you: job title, location, experience, salary, and skills
  • A verified skills match, based on test scores, resume, and work experience
  • A matching score from 0% to 100% on every candidate card
  • Up to eight criteria you write yourself, each assessed against the candidate

Why it matters

  • Search the way you'd describe the role to a colleague
  • See candidate fit at a glance, instead of opening every profile
  • Rank your shortlist by what actually matters for the role

5. A new Free plan

What's new?

For our free plan users, we have expanded what you can do with TestGorilla. The new Free plan includes the full set of Plus tools, with a few exceptions, and gives everyone 10 credits a month to spend on candidates. Free users can build their own one-way and conversational AI interviews and keep them in their company library.

  • The full Plus toolset, except ID verification, ATS integrations, Sourcing, and custom branding
  • 10 credits each month to invite candidates
  • Build and save your own AI interviews

Why it matters

  • Try TestGorilla's full hiring workflow before you commit
  • Run real assessments on a small scale at no cost
  • Pay only for the candidates you invite when you're ready to scale
