1. Customer service: immersive job simulation🎙️

We’ve launched a new Customer Service: Immersive Job Simulation test to simulate real-world support scenarios.

What do you need to know?

  • Candidates respond to 3 video questions by recording audio.
  • Responses are to be manually reviewed—this test is not auto-scored.
  • Designed to assess tone, empathy, and problem-solving in high-pressure service situations.

🔦 Customer feedback spotlight:

"We are a call center. An assessment to test one's ability to listen to a customer while entering correct data would benefit us and I'm sure many companies. Had this test been available, we would have pulled the trigger and used TestGorilla."

— COO at a mid-size US company.

We are focused on creating tests that reflect real-world skills as accurately as possible.

This simulation test is the first in a series of upcoming immersive tests.

2. Assessment tags 🏷️

Now, you can add, delete, and filter by tags, making it easy to organize assessments.

What do you need to know?

  • Each tag supports up to 30 characters.
  • You can remove the tags anytime by simply selecting the tag and choosing the 'delete' option.
  • Helps users with high assessment volume stay organized and find what they need faster.

3.  Notification center 🔔 (beta)

We added a basic notification center to help users stay updated with new feature updates.

What do you need to know?

  • A bell icon now shows new notifications in the app.
  • Development teams can now push updates or reminders using this framework.

🔦 Customer feedback spotlight:

“You mentioned there's a new AI test, but I wasn't aware of it... maybe also improving the notification system to inform customers of new features would be great.”

— SVP Global Ops & Transformation, Tech company in the UK

We’re thrilled to roll out the Notification Center! It helps us share feature updates with more customers, highlighting the incredible work of our engineering team.

4. Custom email color styling 🎨

Express your brand's identity by customizing the colors in your invitation and rejection emails.

What do you need to know?

  • Available for all customers.
  • Change the color of email headings, links, and text with just a few clicks.

5. 15-minute time limit for essay questions 📝

You can now set a 15-minute limit when creating custom essay questions.

What do you need to know?

  • This is an addition to the earlier options of time limits.
  • Offers more flexibility when designing essay-style assessments.

🔦 Customer feedback spotlight:

“Please, can I please put in a developer request? Could you allow a custom essay question to be timed at 15 minutes? Current options are only 10 or 30 mins.”

— Senior TA Specialist, Tech company in the UK.

This was a quick win for our engineering team and early feedback from customers has been very encouraging.

6. New tabs in assessment results page 🗂️

The overview page now features tabs to help you better navigate your assessment data.

What do you need to know?

  • Three new tabs: Candidates, Overview, and (coming soon) Analytics.
  • For now, only the first two tabs are visible.
  • We will soon add the third ‘Analytics’ tab as well.

7. Improved email invitation template 📩

We have updated the design and content of the invitation email sent to all candidates.

What do you need to know?

  • We developed this copy after testing various messages, as it achieved the highest open rate and conversion to starting an assessment.
  • If you have modified the email invitation, that won't be altered.

Your feedback makes TestGorilla better every month. Keep it coming! Stay tuned for more updates next month.

If you have made it to the end, congrats on being a power user.

We have a fun little game to try, which helps you use TestGorilla better!
